There I was, standing on the edge of the Northern Range, minding my own business, when a group of douens kidnapped me, dragged me into the forest.....and had their way with me for over a week. Fortunately for me, a douen's idea of 'having its way' with someone involves tea parties, pitching marbles and fishing....so it wasn't all bad....except that all that pitching has given me a wicked case of carpal tunnel syndrome :(
Ridiculous story? OF COURSE IT IS! But the way I see it, if people can believe that those Moruga school children were demon possessed, and that the present administration really only just found out about the activities of the S.I.A, and that crime has gone down....they can certainly believe that I've neglected my blog for two weeks because I was kidnapped by some folklore characters!...
Anyhowsy, that preamble was just that....preamble :)...My real issue today is with our beloved Water and Sewerage Authority. I filled a pot with tap water, changed my mind about cooking, covered the pot and came back later to find this:

Let me also remind WASA that I live in St. James, a city with numerous restaurants. If that's the quality of water coming out of my taps, I have to wonder what's going into the food these restaurants are selling!
Boil the water before use you say? SURE! But boiling water kills bacteria. It doesn't get rid of dirt....and what you see there is dirt.....DUTT as some people say!
It's one thing to see dirty water when repair work is being done on nearby pipes and water mains, but sediments in the water on a daily basis? NO GRACIAS! I'll get my minerals and vitamins through Seven Seas capsules thank you very much!
I have a Brita jug I use for drinking water, but I have honestly neglected to get one of those Pur filters for faucets. I will take the sight of that "What's really in your water?" as my cue to expedite my purchase of a Pur filter.
Dare I say that years from now research may link this poor water quality to the rampant stupidity now plaguing our nation?! We'll just have to wait and see.....Don't sue me WASA. It's just a theory...an assumption at best....a hypothesis even...
Thanks for reading :)

When I was in Trinidad I ended up in Mt hope with acute pharyngitis, a raging fever of 38.8°C, from drinking tap water in a careless moment.
Planning to visit soon, but not me and that again.
Word verification - 'tompeduc'... any relation to aquaduct?
SAD EH! In 2010, in a so called "developing country" people are getting sick from the pipe water!
The pipes themselves need changing (and WASA is working on that), but there's a lot to be said about the quality of the water itself.
PS. I have no idea what a tompeduc is....and neither does Dictionary.com lol.
LOL ... dat preamble is hilarious ... cuz really ... fuh real??!
... and I also use a Brita ... and if you see stone dat ting does filter out ....
